- The UNHCR in 2008 Designated the Entire Population of Shimelba Camp in Northern
Ethiopia is P-2 (second priority) Refugees, Making all Potentially Eligible for
Resettlement in the USA. Initial Immigrants Arrived in Late 2008.
- Several Hundred Refugee Immigrants Arrived in the USA in 2009, and Many More Are
Expected in 2010. Resettlement Cities Include: Philadelphia, Columbus, Dallas,
Denver, Washington, DC Area, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Buffalo; The America Team is
Providing Assistance as Funds Become Available
- Ethiopia and ARRA (Ministry that Aids Refugees) have Received Over 1,000 Eritrean
Refugees from Egypt. The America Team Has Reported on Several Group Arrivals
- The America Team has Provided Scholarships to 30 Refugees to do Post-High School
Studies in Addis Ababa. Subjects for Study foe Certificates and BA Degrees Include
Pharmacy and Nursing
